Cinnamon waffles with miso caramel sauce and Vanilla ice cream

Waffles with ice cream make a great dessert, paired with the slightly salty miso caramel sauce makes them extra special.

To make the caramel

Heat the butter, cream, golden syrup and sugar on a low heat until the sugar has dissolved.

Bring to the boil and then reduce the heat and simmer for 5 minutes.

Whisk in the miso and cinnamon and allow to cool before serving.

(Store in a jar and use within three days (do not refrigerate )

To make the waffles

Add the wet  and dry ingredients together and mix thoroughly.

Cook in your waffle iron until crispy and lightly brown.

Serve with fresh berries and maple syrup.

Serve with fresh fruit and vanilla ice cream.



Dry Ingredients


1 cup plain flour

1 Heaped Tbsp finely ground flaxseed

1 Tbsp coconut sugar

1/2Tbsp baking powder

1 pinch of sea salt

Combine all the above ingredients in a bowl

Wet Ingredients


1Tbsp maple syrup

1/4 tsp vanilla extract

1 cup Moma oat plant milk or any other plant milk

Miso caramel sauce

50g vegan butter

150g double plant based double cream

150g soft brown sugar

2Tbsp golden syrup

3tsp white miso

1tsp cinnamon
