Jamaican Porridge

Porridge is in our top 5 breakfasts, this vegan version of a Jamaican recipe is amazing and refreshingly different.

Jamaican Porridge


Put the water, salt, bay leaf, cinnamon stick in a heavy bottom nonstick saucepan.

Stir and bring to the boil.

simmer for 5 minutes.

Turn off the heat and allow to stand for 10 minutes

Remove the cinnamon stick and bay leaf

Add the remaining ingredients, bring back to the boil.

Turn down the heat and simmer for a further 15 minutes while stirring to avoid sticking.

Serve with fresh fruit.

2 cups water

1/4tsp salt

1 bay leaf

1 small cinnamon stick

1 cup plant-based milk

1/4 tsp cinnamon

1/4 tsp nutmeg

1/2 tsp vanilla extract

1/4 cup vegan condensed milk
